Clayton Police warn about counterfeit bills

CLAYTON, Okla.  – Clayton police have issued a warning about counterfeit money.

The department said it has received reports that fake bills are circulating around town.

Police said people should inspect cash before accepting it because most counterfeit bills will have something showing it is fake such as its color, the paper used or size of the bill.

The department also recommended that most businesses keep a counterfeit pen to see if bills are fake.
