Austin, Texas — Four suspects have been apprehended by the Austin Police Department (APD) in connection with a retail theft operation involving nearly $57,000 in stolen merchandise from over a dozen Victoria’s Secret stores in the Austin area.
The APD identified the suspects as Sofia Hernandez, 20; Angelica Chavez, 24; Joe Garcia, 37; and Lisa Vasquez, 30. According to police, the investigation led by APD’s North Metro Tactical Response Unit began in September 2024, focusing on a series of thefts targeting retail stores. Police seized more than 2,000 stolen items from over 40 retailers, along with a stolen handgun.
Hernandez, Chavez, and Garcia face multiple felony theft charges, with Garcia also facing an additional charge of robbery by threat. Vasquez has been charged with felony organized retail theft.
