NASHVILLE, TN — Orlexus Elliot, a 27-year-old woman with a long history of retail theft, is back in the headlines after being accused of stealing over $11,000 worth of merchandise from multiple Nashville retailers. Elliot, whose criminal record spans nearly a decade, has been charged with 16 counts of organized retail crime, felony theft, and misdemeanor theft following her latest arrest.
According to Metro Police, Elliot’s latest spree included stealing nine handbags worth $3,642 from a Coach store at Tanger Outlets and 20 designer coats valued at $3,365 from Polo Ralph Lauren at Opry Mills. Both incidents occurred in 2024, with the stolen items allegedly posted for sale on social media the same day.
Her most recent charge stems from a theft on January 2, 2025, when she allegedly made an appointment under a false name at LensCrafters in Nashville West Shopping Center and stole 14 pairs of Prada glasses valued at $5,400.
Elliot’s string of alleged crimes includes more than high-end thefts. Police also accuse her of stealing candy, tumblers, diapers, and beauty products from stores like Walgreens, Target, and Ulta. One incident involved the theft of six Stanley tumblers worth $210 from Ace Hardware on Gallatin Pike in January 2024.
Detectives with the Organized Retail Crimes Unit have been investigating Elliot due to her extensive criminal history, which includes 58 offenses since 2016. Previous arrests include:
- October 2016: Theft from TJ Maxx at 100 Oaks.
- August 2018: Shoplifting at Victoria’s Secret in Rivergate Mall.
- March 2019: Theft from Target on Charlotte Pike.
- November 2021: Stealing jerseys from the Titans Pro Shop.
Authorities apprehended Elliot on Monday after monitoring her activities with the help of a police helicopter. She is currently being held on a $102,500 bond.
Elliot’s past convictions include charges of possessing tools used for retail theft. Despite multiple probation violations and failure-to-appear charges, police say she has continued to target retailers across Middle Tennessee.
The Metro Police Department notes that organized retail crime poses significant challenges to both law enforcement and local businesses. Elliot’s actions have allegedly caused substantial financial losses, with stolen goods often being resold quickly via social media.
While all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty, Elliot faces serious legal consequences if convicted. For now, her path forward remains uncertain, but her retail theft streak appears to have hit another major roadblock.
