Shoplifter banned from wearing wigs after shop theft spree

Gloucester, UK — A repeat shoplifter, Hannah Roberts, 33, has been barred from using wigs to disguise herself as part of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) issued by Gloucester Magistrates. Roberts had attempted to bypass a shopping ban by donning various hairpieces, yet a distinctive neck tattoo revealed her identity to vigilant staff members.

Roberts’ CBO was imposed by the court in response to her repeated thefts and confrontational behavior toward shop staff. Initially, Roberts was banned from entering any member stores of the Gloucester City Safe Scheme, an initiative designed to reduce retail crime. However, she continued to ignore the restrictions, reportedly becoming abusive when confronted by security and fleeing with stolen items.

As part of her new restrictions, Roberts is prohibited from wearing any wigs or hairpieces that alter her appearance when entering retail premises. She is also banned from Gloucester city center and from all shops participating in the Gloucester City Safe scheme.

PC Andy Plant of Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Vulnerabilities Team expressed relief over the order, saying, “Our retail industry is suffering because of these persistent shoplifters. Roberts has been the top shoplifting offender in the last few months, and we now have another tool to deal with her in the shape of this Criminal Behaviour Order.”

Authorities pledge to continue supporting local businesses by targeting shoplifters and seeking additional orders against repeat offenders.
